CHASING A DREAM
Almost nothing about my story is conventional and that's what I'm most proud of. I've always done things my own way and trusted my instinct. I am following a passion that is only driven by self-curiosity and my love for my profession. Ever since I was a little kid, music has always been apart of me. It simply was never optional. I would bounce my leg during math class and tap my pen waiting for school to be over just so I could go home to play guitar (not that learning math isn't important). I would enter the talent show every year and pretend I was Angus Young playing "Back In Black" or whatever AC/DC song I was into at the time. As a kid I would watch the 1973 Elvis Presley Hawaii concert on DVD almost every night and I could only dream of stepping on a stage and entertaining a crowd like that someday.
As I got older, I met amazingly talented people with my same dream who have now become some of my closest friends. When I was going into grade 10, I signed up for a music program at my high school (Bev Facey Community High School). Now when math class was over I had music class. My love for music now had the opportunity to be showcased and shared with musicians just like me. This did wonders for me. At a time in my life when figuring out my career was never more pressing, I now had validation that being a musician was possible. As all of my friends were applying for regular jobs I was setting sail to be the best musician I was capable of being. Above is a photo of myself and my friend Ray performing with country artist Ryan Lindsay to 5000+ people. No matter how how my ship sails from here on out, music has always been apart of me and it always will.
